I always feel that night is a very mysterious time of day and can look quite sinister in photography. It definitely makes these images incredibly powerful with the sense of underlying emotions hidden behind the more obvious themes.

Store Visual Merchandising
I work part time at T M Lewin and was given the opportunity to implement the visual merchandising of the womenswear section. I had to incorporate the new range which features some new pink shirts. The mannequin is made the focal point being placed in the centre. The navy suit is placed either side, with fixings and shelves places symmetrically on either side.

There is something so beautiful about mermaids that always captivate me. When I was little I was obsessed with drawing them.

Trend reporting
My beautiful camera- a gift for my 21st
This is something I am really excited about starting as I find consumer and brand trend fascinating. Its a vital part of the economy and a great way of seeing what people want and how trends form.
The deadline for this is the 8th, but it will have to be put on hold as I am off back to London tomorrow for some street style photography for my FMP. Brick Lane and Camden are where I really want to explore as per, but also the museums and exhibitions. One thing I have learnt is that great street style can be found anywhere. In Salisbury, I once saw an elderly gent sporting a bomber jacket covered in a florescent print of the London A-Z. As wacky as this was, I thought it was brilliant amongst all the grey city. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me, so didn't manage to capture it. This is the second lesson I have learnt- always carry my camera!
Pics of tomorrows street style mission will be uploaded asap!

Major project- initial research
Now I am in my final thirteen weeks of University, I must start my Final Major Project (FMP). My project idea is an online trend forecasting pack aimed at Buyers by Mudpie. My initial stages are to develop my trends. I have started to take a lot of photographs of anything and everything that interests me.
My family live in Salisbury, so took advantage of the historic country buildings and nature in the area by taking some shots. I found that the historic housing surrounding the Cathedral had some really interesting detailing such as gates and doors. I also looked at the stone walls and wooden bridges that have moss and other plants growing on them. I like the way the plants almost become part of the architecture- juxtaposing the natural world with man made buildings.
